As I wrote about in my essay Pushing the Limits at 14,000 Feet, I finally completed a [literally] life-long goal of mine last year: I finished climbing Colorado’s 58 peaks above 14,000 feet. The process began when I was merely seven years old, back when climbing all the 14ers wasn’t as popular as it is now, and back when the sub-peaks like Cameron and North Eolus weren’t really considered 14ers. A lot has changed since then, and I’ve been lucky enough to see those changes first hand. I was also fortunate to never get into any serious trouble in all those miles hiked, feet gained, streams crossed, storms avoided, and wildlife encountered.
The following is a brief summary of 21 years of mountaineering, set to a rockin’ song. I hope you enjoy this little slideshow, and that it inspires you to get outside and accomplish goals you never dreamed would be possible!
