Who is Sarah Schmeer?

I’m a twenty-nine year old Colorado native with a strange penchant for beautiful things that want to kill me.  I’m currently attending graduate school for a Master’s Degree in Watershed Science.

I’ve been traveling at every opportunity since I was 18 years old, and though this has made my work and school records a bit spotty, I wouldn’t change a thing, not even for access to the Mount Athos Peninsula.

A friend once described my life as “The Travel Channel meets the Oregon Trail meets a trashy romance novel you don’t admit to reading.”

I am 57 years old. My mother who is 82 told me of Richard Halliburton great books she read as a child. I also fell in love with the books as a boy. How did you learn of him? If you swim the panama canal I would like to see some of it! Good luck and tell me where to make a donation to help your adventure. Wouldn’t be beautiful if you can light up children and young adults to adventure? Good Luck

    • Hi Steve, thanks for commenting! And thanks for reminding me to put the donation link up again! I just updated my website and forgot that part. The donation link is now on the right side of every page (except the home page–I’m working on that). I really appreciate the thought and the help! I learned of Richard when someone introduced me to “The Royal Road to Romance” about ten years ago. I was hooked from then on. I will not be swimming the Panama Canal, but I will be swimming the Nile River, the Sea of Galilee, and (the big one) the Hellespont River. What you said, “wouldn’t it be beautiful if you can light up children and young adults to adventure,” is exactly the goal of this trip, and I certainly hope I can achieve it. Thanks again!
